Pulp Fiction is a cult classic film by Quentin Tarantino released in 1994, and has a narrative made up of many converging plot lines with two or three of them directly linked at any given moment. Because of the numerous narratives the film is known for its fast pace and its pulp magazine aesthetic.
To create a title sequence to an existing film, taking into account the plot, style and setting when deciding on my own choice of aesthetic and soundtack.
For my Pulp Fiction title sequence I tried to reflect the fast pace of the plot by making, quick fast paced transitions between names. To make a suggestion of the converging plot lines, I used bold blocks of colours (red, orange and yellow) which also appeared in the original posters for the film, and made them literally collide and push the other aside. To maintain the pulp aesthetic I chose fonts and music which closely resembled that from the film itself.
