A installation project aimed at juxtaposing digital icons into real life situations. My response was to use the pin used in Google Maps navigations, which has become ubiquitous across all mapping software and turn this digital icon into a physical object. The resulting icon was nearly 7 foot tall and 1 foot deep, with and A and B on either side.
I came up with the concept and apart from help physically moving the object I cut, built and painted the installation in its entirety.
I got a very positive response not only for how I’d interpreted the brief, but on the scale of the of the installation for solo project. It also got a impressive response from the public, with many people taking photos and talking to me about it as we moved it around the city for my own pictures.
